The attractive drawing

“Landscape of medieval walled cities” 1553, 23.7 ×33.5 cm, pen and ink.

This drawing was made by P Brueghel. It is thought that was made to create printmaking. Therefore, it is drawn closely. Used by pen and ink, lines are interesting. Brueghel drew during trip in Italy. Landscape is not real. It is an imaginary city.Style of architecture is mixed with Italy style and Flandre style.

Stroke of the pen of sky and cloud looks like speedy. Then, forest is drawn like dot. I think that is interesting, and line is simple. I feel fantasy to look Brueghel’s drawings.
